Performances

David is always an enthusiast for new music and it is rare for any of his concerts not to include a work by a living or, at the very least, a recently living composer. Great works of the standard repertoire by Bach, Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, Beethoven and Fauré rub shoulders with music written in the present century.

“I would love to ring up Haydn and ask him about a tempo or how he imagined a phrase. Unfortunately it is a little difficult but this does make working with contemporary composers all the more interesting.”
