Addison Singers – spring concert

March 19th sees the Addison Singers’ spring concert and a welcome return to St Michael’s and All Angels, Turnham Green, for two pieces by British composers around the theme of reflection and remembrance: Richard Rodney Bennett’s ‘Farewell to Arms’ and John Rutter’s popular ‘Requiem’. In between comes the passionate setting of the ‘Missa Brevis’ by the Hungarian composer Zoltan Kodaly, written during the occupation of his native Budapest during the Second World War. The Addison Singers are joined by members of the Brandenburg Sinfonia, the soprano Nicola Wydenbach and the organist Edward Kemp-Luck and the concert is given in memory of Cathy Bereznicki, a long-standing member of the choir who sadly died in early February .
